Bookworms get united with glue.

For the last few months I have been checkin in to mostly every movie, music, book, place or thing that I do via GetGlue.com. If you havent heard or visit the site you should. I have discovered lots of new books, movies, music after joining them. Also found out that there are lots of people with my same interests.

Besides knowing people with your same interest you also get to collect some stickers, review topics -books, music, movies, etc-  and comment on them. How that works? Well after you checkin frequently, review comment on a subject you get to own a sticker that shows your real passion towards that certain thing you are checking into. I myself have already 80+ stickers. Yes I am fan.

The Last One

Just found out like two hours ago that the last of my albino cockatiels passed away. I am sad. My mom even cried she was the one that spent most of the time with him and the rest cause she is retired. Anyways. Like I sad before I had him since 2002 perhaps. I don't recall seems like they have been here since forever. Like their noise have always been around the house.

I stayed downstairs waiting for my mom to get home and tell her but I just couldn't wait I called her and told her about the bird and could listen to her sobbing with sadness. She really love those birds. I already miss the noise even when sometimes it got on my nerves. Now I wont have nobody to greet me when I come downstairs. I wont hear him singing early in the morning whit the other cockatiels from the street. -sigh-

The Other Guys & Schemes.

Last month I went to see the movie The Other Guys with my sister and some friends. The movie was dumb stupid but so damn funny. Way bizarre than what I expected to be since it haves gorgeous Mark Wahlberg and your friendly comedy man Will Ferrell. People complain while watching it saying it was stupid but I didn't saw anybody leave the room.

Anyways the whole cast was weird but so awesome together. Very different from many funny movies and that made it kind of special. The theme even when it was covered with lots of stupidity it is really serious and something that happens. I got this at the end of the movie with the -so far- best end of credits ever. If you stayed until the end and watched it like I tried to do well good for you. The information provided was great compliment to explain in a "serious" way what the whole movie -besides been funny- was really about at the end.

Robotic

This past week I worked a few days. On one of those conversations with my dear co-workers we ended up talking about DIY projects and things we like to do or just learned to do cause we found them interesting. One of them learned how to make birthday balloons -the ones that you can make animal figures and many other things- type. He learned from watching videos on youtube. Sweet!

Thing is that I told him I made some cute robots and he asked me for one. So I spent the whole day hand sewing this sweet robot that you will see now. I liked the colors he choose. My fingers hurt but it was all worth it.

Do you consider yourself a good artist?

I don't consider my self a bad artist or a good artist. I know I have some art skills and that -like every thing else- we do have our good days or bad days.

Sometimes I do some artworks that I am even impress with my outcomes but there are days that I really wonder if I do have those skills or I am just been lucky. There is always a contradiction that at some point can keep you balanced.

I am just an artist that tries its best to do what she feels is the right thing at that moment. This is more about knowing what you can or can't do and work with it. Above all to stay real with yourself. That makes you a good artist.

Ask me something.

You smell something cooking. It smells amazing, what is it?

Chocolate chip cookies. Love that smell.

Octopus and Astronomy

I had this idea after I saw the astronomy calendar my dad got for last year. Instead of getting rid of the calendar with glorious space photos I created this fabulous octopus that went to space. Nothing more cool than watching octopuses on outer space floating. You can watch the video of the painting process here or scroll down on the page.

This is a "collage" made of watercolors and gorgeous picture.
Creating and recycling at the same time.
Octopus was painted with watercolors.
All glued on a 9x12in paper for watercolor paintings 120lb.

Hanging postcards.

On the first photo you will see the materials you will need. The canvas can be any size you need it to be. If you can make the frame good for you. I don't have those skills so I used some old unwanted canvas I had on my room. I used fishing string to make the "hanging" cord. Just tie the string to each side of the frame vertical or horizontal. Make sure you mark the sizes of the postcards so they don't get too overlapped and people can actually appreciate them. The paper clips are the ones that will hold the postcards on the string. So they will be actually hanging on the string.

I had all this items on my home. If you don't have fishing string you can use a ribbon or whatever you feel like using. I have been wanting to do this for quite some time now. I looked around the internet and got a few ideas until I saw the canvas. The double sided tape is for gluing the frame to the wall.

Devil's Food

I have developed a great interest on cooking and baking. Can you tell? I did this tasty chocolate cake. I added chocolate Cortes, quick and some Hershey decorative things.

I baked this on Friday and thats what is left of it and thats because I removed it from the fridge and took it upstairs with me, lol! dad loved it. So there it is. I will keep baking and cooking cause that is something I love so you will see more food photographs. After all this is a blog about my stuff so I should just add cooking to the list. Yey!

French Onion Soup

I love cooking. I am not a fan of soups but I like to taste new flavors and therefore I went to youtube cause i wanted to do a French Onion soup. I found the video below and made it.

I changed some things. I didn't used beef stock cause I don't have it instead I used chicken bouillon [cubitos caldo pollo]. That did the trick. Other thing I added broccoli to the soup. For the bread I used caesar salad croûtons or the regular croûton both work well but if you use the caesar salad be carefull with the salt factor. It could become an issue. Been there. Cheeses... well I used creme cheese, Velveeta cheese and Italian five cheese. I love cheese. Yesterday I was looking up for a new recipe and I found this other video and it is really good too so check it out..

The result....
