Earth Hour 2009

So this year I didn't forget about the Earth Hour event. I managed to turn off all the lights and even went off line. Ha! Thing I couldn't do what to enroll the grandparents in all the event so I left the TV on for them. They asked me to turn on the lights so I explained to them why I turned the lights off but they watched the TV anyways.

I looked outside the windows but I think I was the only one doing it. The rest of the houses looked liked Christmas. All lights on. I hope and wish that next year people get more into this Earth Hour movement. It would be nice to see the whole street off even the light posts on the street. The sky on this area at night when there is no light is gorgeous. All the stars shine and the everything haves this blueish shade is amazing. Not sure if the rest of the people have noticed that when we don't have light.

I am happy with my small contribution. Even when Earth Hour concentrates in one specific day there are many things that can be done on a daily basis in order to help out mother nature and become eco friendly.

I myself do some stuff that I think could help out with all this eco friendly subject.

  • If there is light on the rooms there is no need to turn on the lights. The only purpose of it is to make things more visible not to turn it on just because. Also you can use a smaller light bulb that wont consume way to much energy. I have this reading light on the side of my bed that illuminates the whole room pretty well. Therefor I don't have to turn on the main light.
  • Use your windows to get enough light inside the rooms and that will also let the wind get inside your room and flow easily around them. You dont have to use the fan or AC all the time. That helps too. Also drink more water that will keep you cool in between things.
  • Cellphones today can be charged while you are using your laptop. Do that. Only use the other charger for when you are not near your computer/laptop.
  • TURN OFF your laptop/computer or use it with the battery alone. If you don't need to have it on all the time don't.
  • When I am taking a shower at night I don't turn on the light unless I am going to shave my legs etc. I know where all my body parts are, where the soap and water thing is they wont change place from the last time you shower. By doing this you can also develop some other skills like walking in the dark or something.

Friends & fish.

Had such a great da with some friends. We went to Palma del Mar in Humacao and went to eat some fish.

We dreamnt about what we would do if we ever won the lottery. Great times and imagination.

After that when we headed back home we went to the movies in Fajardo. The movie was Knowing. I liked it but I was like waiting more at the end, but that is for another post perhaps.

I eated the Quesadillas con Carne al Pastor. Muy buenas de hecho. Nunca las habia comido pero valio la pena el intento.

What about the chair?

In my backyard we have a chair. Well the chair is abandoned full of dirt, ugly and even had some rain over hair. it haves no seating cushion what so ever. I remember that my dad was supposed to fix it but that never happen as many other things around the house there is no time to do it. I think that if he cuts the sitting area I could get a nice fabric at the store and make it new.

I have great ideas cause I love the chair. It haves a great style and personality. I also have plans to decorate the house upstairs and I think the chair will make a great addition tot he whole remaking of the house. I have to sand it, then seal it, primer it to paint it black. Black was its original color but with all the dirt it looks brown. I could also do the back of the chair. Not sure.

After visiting so many blogs like apartmenttheraphy.com I got all this great ideas. I have become a crafting, decorationg blog hunter. That is good cause it keeps me creative. With twitter I have found many other crafting and decorating blog like: @decor8, @MarthaStewart, @craft, @queenofdiycom and so on.

Anyways here a picture of the chair I want to rescue.

A woman left lonely

Being honest is one of those things that makes living hard or hard on others. It is not that i don't miss you. Thing is that I got tired of waiting and doing what the rest wants. It is not that I don't want you thing is I want you bad. But even knowing all that I don't regret what I said. I just put over you the weight of other situations. Not a good thing to do but I did just for honesty sake. It made you feel bad cause it wasn't your fault which is true but you are part of all this that makes me feel so wrong.

What you expected? Me waiting for you to show up just like before? Im tired of waiting for you, for the rest and for everybody. I got tired of being patient with everyone. Now I got everything sort out. Things will change. Honesty will prevail again. Sorry I cut you off like that. im really sorry but I got fed up. Not going to wait for a call, card a message non of that bullshit. If you want to make things right. You know were to find me. You got to make things work both ways. Two way or nothing thats the way things will be on now.

Tired of all this people bullshit, their drama and figuring out how all this relationship thing works. Just after the conversation was over I remembered this words by Ms. Janis Joplin which fit perfectly here.

"A Woman Left Lonely"

A woman left lonely will soon grow tired of waiting,
She’ll do crazy things, yeah, on lonely occasions.
A simple conversation for the new men now and again
Makes a touchy situation when a good face come into your head.
And when she gets lonely, she’s thinking ‘bout her man,
She knows he’s taking her for granted, yeah yeah,
Honey, she doesn’t understand, no no no no!

Well, the fevers of the night, they burn an unloved woman
Yeah, those red-hot flames try to push old love aside.
A woman left lonely, she’s the victim of her man, yes she is.
When he can’t keep up his own way, good Lord,
She’s got to do the best that she can, yeah!
A woman left lonely, Lord, that lonely girl,
Lord, Lord, Lord!

Fuego y La Secta.

La cancion Fuego comenzo todoel show.

On Google Sites

Have you used google sites? Do you have any ideas on how to work around it. Do you have answers to any of this questions? Yes or No?

Well I had them and went to the site and started making some drafting on the pages. Discovering how to use it. I watched the tutorial went to the pages they offer as examples and seemed pretty easy to use. Even when I did created a page or more like a HOME for my blog . I so needed a webpage and I cant afford to buy a name/site or anything of the things needed to get a website.

After I open the first page months went by and I gave up on the whole thing I found it too much work. Don't get me wrong it does offers you many choices to work with like the iGoogle gadgets you can put there very useful. The sitemap is quite nice since you can see the whole spine of the page.

I made the pages using html tables. It's been a long while and I dont know CSS I can work my way around it but not do it from scratch. If you dont know how to make templates like me you can use the themes they offer there. There are only two layouts one column or two columns. Anyways I like the final result. The only thing that kinds of bothers me is the address but hey it is a free service, right?

I had lots of fun doing it and I hope you enjoy it and visit it as well.

A different look.

So After months or well years of changing the blog look constantly I think I just found the one template and color combination that will stand for some time and hopefully years to come. If you are using google reader I think you never ever noticed the changes but if you went to the actual blog you will know what I am talking about.

I finally manage to get PS CS3 and went over board even when i actually didnt do a lot of stuff there still it got me inspired in creating a much more modern look that I wanted for some time now.

If you visit my other pages you will see they all share the same background if the program lets me edit that It have been change so they will kind of look like one unit and the flow will carry on the different links associated to the this blog or me etc. Hope you like it cause I sure do.
